Can someone tell me where I can (without a modem) find a copy of "Disk Param,"
useful with the Spectre?

I've asked this once, but to no avail. So I'll ask it again.
Where can I find Gnu C for ST ? I can FTP.
Thanks,

No luck here either. I also, when using methods described by
James and my own, get only the 'standard' desktop. The problem also
applies to any floppy that has a program in the /AUTO/ folder. The
only way that I can boot off floppy is during a power off of the
hard drive... Not good.
Interestingly, copy protected games ignore the hard drive and
allow the floppy to autoboot.

I did just what was suggested above. I forget the price, but the main issue is
that some of the most useful Atari utilities are normally considered a bundle
with the C compiler. Stuff like MADMAC, Atari db and aln. I presume there
would be no problem re-selling MWC if you REALLY don't want it. The hassle
of getting the important stuff without the compiler just isn't a good bargain.
(Note: everyone I've ever spoken with at Atari is very helpful, and wants to
solve problems. This seems to be an inherently confusing situation.)

I think I would like this. I am tired of sifting through
the muck, and would support the sort of division he suggest.
( Of course certain "KILL" commands in "rn", like
/obnoxious person/h:j
/ unsubscribe/:j
/ Vapourware/:j
have been helpful in the past, but it is not everything. )
Yes, there are details to work out, but let's discuss them.

Subject: Paper jams with Atari SLM804
My company branch has an Atari Mega 2 system with a FaST hard disk and an
SLM804 laser printer for our printing purposes. However, ever since we got the
laser printer, we have had problems with the paper constantly jamming inside
it. We have tried using different type of paper, but it seemed to have little
effect. Has anyone else seen this problem. If it matters (can't see how) we have
been running Ultrascript to print PostScript files.

Well, I've read two magazine reviews that tell us a whole different
story. In december issue of ST-magazin (W-Germany) the reviewer said
that Stacey will not have a backlighted display (plain LCD, not good).
On the other hand, in December issue of PCW (Personal Computer World,
UK) Stacey was a cover article and the reviewer said it has a back-
lighted display, which is one of the best he has seen. In fact he had
two different machines (both had backlighted LCDs). Also David S. wrote
how good the display was (a few articles back, here).
I believe that Stacey has a backlighted display, which is very good.

Has anyone been using vdist.prg version 3.3 from the desktop,
and are getting it to work on TOS 1.4? When I run it, it loads
the file to view, and all the fonts, but the window that it is
supposed to be displayed in, is shaded gray. The same symptoms
appear, when I run it from Neodesk. The odd thing is, it works
fine, if I first run MSH, and then do a 'gem vdist' from within
msh. Anyone have any ideas/clues as to why this is?

I downloaded bolo from compuserve & it's great! The about game sez there's a
song that plays on startup if you have 1 meg/double. I have both but no song.
What other files do I need & where can I get them?
Where can I get Sozoban C, GNU C and GULAM? I read somewhere (and long, long
ago) that GNU C++ existed. Same query. Please give bitnet addresses as
internet gateway support here is iffy at best.
Thanks much.
